Crystal Paladin (12/06/2008)
CRYSTAL PALADIN
NAME: Crystal Paladin
MANA: 4
POWER: 5000
RULE TEXT: - Evolution- Put on one of your Liquid People.
- When you put this creature into the battle zone, return all creatures in the battle zone that have “blocker” to their owners’ hands.
FLAVOR TEXT: -
SET: DM-2 Evo-Crushinators of Doom
RARITY: Super Rare
CIVILIZATION: Water
RACE: Liquid People
TYPE: Evolution Creature
REG. NO.: S2/S5
Overall Rating: 8.5/10
This is quite a water’s favourite, so I’ll keep an eye if I get a second one, since I use Water…
POWER: Crystal Paladin’s power is perfect for its effect and mana and everything else and it’s cheaper except for Spinslicer. What’s more, 5000 can only be killed by few destruction spells, and it is already very high for water, with 12000 being highest in English (King Tsunami !) and 15000 (Gigablizzard and Petelgius) in Japan.
CIVILIZATION/RACE: Liquid People have TONS of support and can be used in many decks. Together with Leviathans, they make an excellent water deck. Just watch out for Terror Pit from Darkness and Light’s Holy Awe…
What’s more you’ve got a Lancer, which means COMBO…COMBO…COMBO!!!!!!
EFFECT: This is the good part. Returns all blockers when it is summoned and the evolution-means-no-summoning-sickness part is really combo-ish. Basically it’s a rush Scarlet that bounces instead of destroys, and has half the mana for 2000 more power! This only means one thing… ONE-TURN-UNBLOCKABLE!!! Being invincible if used on last turn means a good reason to stock up on Aqua Hulcus and Aqua Guard (although the latter has combos with simple-yet-powerpacked Spinslicer!)
The Good: Virtually unblockable on inaugural meet with opponent!
The Bad: No Double breaker!!!!!!! >.<
The Ugly: Lancer-killable guy, so bring along your own Lancer; also, never use blockers before that!
Artwork: 8/10 Looks like honeycombs but someone from my class said it was a flower!
Limited: 8/10
Effect rocks but gotta watch your actions.
Constructed: 9/10
Opponent pwned with it alone and destroyed with Lancer. Well, save the best for the end…
Overall Rating: 8.5/10

Good effort, Alphadios. I rate it 8/10. Try to analyze the card's effects a bit more next time, ok?

thanks. at the moment there's no sample deck yet, if you're wondering.

Re: Crystal Paladin (12/06/2008)
thanks a lot. the card itself is one of the coolest evos since dm-02, and still remains one of my favourites in blocker-removal or bounce decks, but always remember that it can make or break a game.
Re: Crystal Paladin (12/06/2008)
Exactly. Are you STILL going to put in a sample deck of Paladin?

actually, refer to Crimson Mega Dragoon for a possible sample deck. I really can't help but Crystal Paladin just doesn't suit a deck of its own. For example, if you use a Liquid People deck - which is obviously infested with Aqua Guards and blockers - you probably will bounce your own side; that's not too desirable.
